VeraSol LED Solar Simulator

Newport Oirel (Stratford, CT) enlisted Tanaka Kapec Design Group to design an enclosure for their new LED based solar simulator technology. They hoped to express the revolutionary technology in the form of the housing for the device.

The resulting design is a 3-part cast urethane shell, which enabled a greater freedom of form exploration than the tradition sheet metal enclosure while meeting all requirements for flame retardancy.
